My feeling about that family changed at the end when I realized that Bad Seed was the third child. Parents lose a lot of leverage disciplining the youngest child, as most consequences must become collective punishments that affect everyone. "We have to leave the playground if you don't stop pulling Katie's hair" means "We ALL have to leave the playground." And that ain't fair.
I agree. It completely changed the message of the article once it became apparent that this guy was not a clueless first time parent wondering about his child. Still, I thought it was funny.
